Washington: Out of Control Brats In Need of a Spanking

"He knows not how to rule a kingdome, that cannot manage a Province; nor can he wield a Province, that cannot order a City; nor he order a City, that knows not how to regulate a Viallage; nor he a Village that cannot guide a Family; nor can that man Govern well a Family that knows not how to Govern himselfe; neither can any Govern himselfe unless reason be Lord, Will and Apetitie her Vassals; nor can Reason rule unless herselfe be ruled by God, and (wholy) be obedient to Him."
Hugo Grotius (1583-1645)
Dutch jurist, statesman, theologian
Founder of the science of International Law

In light of what transpired on Capitol Hill last night (the House approving the Senate health care bill), as well as what has gone on in Washington over the last several years, I constantly hear people ask, "How can they (the politicians) be so stupid? Don't they know they're destroying the country?" The uncomfortable but truthful answer is that they are not stupid, and they know full well what they're doing. They are purposely following the socialist blueprint of dumbing down minds, making hearts obsessed with sex, and overwhelming the economic system to a point of eventual failure at which time they will swoop in and seize total control. And by the way, this plan has been in motion since the late 1800s. Obama just happens to be the final piece of the puzzle.

As Mr. Grotius so eloquently explained, the behavior of our leaders is traceable back to the very foundations of their source of reason. We may wonder what the heck Pelosi and Reid are thinking; we may question the motives behind Obama's agenda; but all we need do is look at the way they reason. They think what they think because their reasoning is not founded on faith in, and obedience to, the Creator. It is founded on the selfish human principles of lust, greed, power, and pleasure. That being the case, will and appetite are not the vassals of reasoning, as Grotius put it; instead they are out front, leading the charge as Pelosi, Reid, and Obama strive to make them happy.

These three leaders (I use the term very loosely) cannot even govern themselves and their own lust for power, let alone a village, city, province, or nation. They are slaves to their own passions with no thought of the damage they leave in their wake.

Citizen's of America: Do you still believe character doesn't matter? Do you still believe the idiocy that what a man does in his personal life has no bearing on his ability to serve in public office?

It has everything to do with it!

If our leaders cannot control their own self-will for the good of their families and themselves, how in God's holy name are they going to control themselves for the good of a nation? What a man is in the privacy of his own home is what he truly is at his core. And no man, apart of the controlling Spirit of God through His Word can fight the core of who he is. If he is dishonest as a factory worker, he will be even more so as city council member, state legislator, or Speaker of the House. Yet the foolish blind mice of the American Electorate don't seem to think character flaws will rear their ugly heads after a man wins an election. We are abject fools while Washington is full of out-of-control brats in need of a spanking.

I was reading several blogs this morning discussing the possibility of an armed revolution in the U.S. (something I am fully in favor of if done correctly) and as part of that discussion one of the bloggers suggested the Constitution needs to be amended or re-written to prevent future government abuses. One of the readers commented on the fact that changing the Constitution will be completely ineffective in it's endeavor due to the "broken" state of man. This adept reader nailed it right on the head.

Our Constitution is not the problem here, folks. The politicians are the problem. Our Constitution was framed as a document which limits the powers of the federal government. If the feds decide not to honor the Constitution it's no more valuable than the paper it's written on. And if the current federal government can ignore the current Constitution, a future government can certainly ignore a future Constitution. The problem is that men are broken. The only thing that will keep the broken man on the right track is the Christian faith which, by the power of God, intervenes and changes the human heart.

We can continue to live in denial and claim that a society free of Biblical Christianity would solve our problems, or we can live in reality and accept the fact that those in Washington are already devoid of any religion to the harm of the whole nation. We can close our eyes to the fact that the Soviet Union was anti-Christian as was Nazi Germany and the Greek and Roman Empires. We can ignore today's reality that Cuba, the Middle East, much of Europe, Red China, India, Pakistan, and parts of south America and Canada are all anti-Christian. Yet, would most American's ever want to live in one of those other nations?

My friends, let common sense prevail - it does wonders for the human mind and heart.

In closing let me say that because of what has transpired I now find myself in great conflict. Obama will sign the Senate bill into law which will then potentially make me a criminal in 2013 when this fully kicks in. The law mandates that almost every American citizen purchase health insurance, an idea that is blatantly unconstitutional. The government has no authority to mandate how people spend their money, or what they do and do not legally purchase. If I obey the law I am part and parcel with the Constitutional breach yet if I disobey, I will be in violation of the law. I know what I must do but I know I will be putting my family and myself at risk.

Such is the price of liberty.

I'm glad that I'm 44 years old instead of 24. I fear for my children and grandchildren who will have to endure the consequences of this mess for generations to come.

For all you Obama voters I have but one question: how's that hope and change working for you?
